Terms of Service for Fridgerio

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using Fridgerio (“the App”) developed by Adam Lukac (“we,” “our,” or “us”).
By downloading, installing, or using Fridgerio, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Fridgerio, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) and agree to comply with these Terms.
2. License Grant
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Fridgerio on Apple devices that you own or control, subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
This license does not allow you to:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the App
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense the App
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices in the App
3. App Description and Disclaimers
Fridgerio is a food inventory management tool that helps you track products, expiry dates, and shopping lists. Important disclaimers:
- Not a food safety tool: Fridgerio provides expiry date tracking as a convenience feature. Always use your own judgment regarding food safety. We are not responsible for any health consequences resulting from consuming products tracked in the app.
- Product data accuracy: Product information retrieved from third-party databases (Open Food Facts, UPCitemdb) may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. We do not guarantee the accuracy of nutrition data, Nutri-Score, Eco-Score, or any other product information.
- OCR accuracy: Expiry date scanning uses on-device optical character recognition, which may produce incorrect results. Always verify scanned dates manually.
- Notifications: Expiry reminder notifications depend on iOS notification delivery, which is not guaranteed. Do not rely solely on notifications for food safety decisions.
4. User Content
You retain ownership of any data you create within Fridgerio (products, shopping lists, custom products, photos). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and process this data solely to provide the service on your device.
5. Intellectual Property
Fridgerio, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by Adam Lukac and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Open Food Facts data used within the app is available under the Open Database License (ODbL).
6. Subscriptions and Purchases
Pricing
- Fridgerio offers a free tier with core functionality and an optional Fridgerio Pro subscription with additional features.
- All prices are displayed in your local currency through the App Store.
- Prices may change. Existing subscribers will be notified before renewal at a new price.
Subscriptions
- Fridgerio Pro is available as a weekly subscription, annual subscription, or one-time lifetime purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
Free Trials
- If offered, free trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends.
- Trial eligibility is determined by Apple and limited to one trial per Apple ID.
Refunds
- All purchases are processed through Apple. Refund requests must be submitted through Apple: https://reportaproblem.apple.com
- We do not process refunds directly.
7. Third-Party Services
Fridgerio uses third-party services for product data lookup:
- Open Food Facts: An open-source food product database. Their terms are available at https://world.openfoodfacts.org/terms-of-use.
- UPCitemdb: A product barcode database. Their terms are available at https://www.upcitemdb.com/wp/terms.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content provided by these third-party services.
8. iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud sync:
- Your data is synced across your Apple devices via Apple’s CloudKit infrastructure.
- iCloud sync is subject to Apple’s iCloud Terms of Service.
- We are not responsible for data loss or sync issues caused by iCloud service disruptions.
- Family sharing features use Apple’s CloudKit sharing infrastructure.
9. Termination
You may stop using Fridgerio at any time by deleting the App. We may suspend or modify the App at any time without prior notice.
Upon deletion of the App:
- All local data is removed from your device.
- iCloud data can be managed through your iCloud settings.
- Active subscriptions must be cancelled separately through iOS Settings.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
FRIDGERIO IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Product data from third-party databases will be accurate or complete
- OCR scanning will produce correct results
- Expiry notifications will be delivered on time
- Data will not be lost
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ADAM LUKAC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR HEALTH CONSEQUENCES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON PRODUCT DATA OR EXPIRY INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE APP.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR FRIDGERIO PRO IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR 50 EUR, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic and applicable European Union law. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved in the courts of the Slovak Republic.
For EU consumers: You retain any mandatory consumer protection rights granted by the law of your country of residence.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will:
- Update the “Last Updated” date at the top
- Post the updated Terms at https://fridgerio.app/terms
Continued use of Fridgerio after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
